If you need a great password manager for your company, LastPass is one of the more popular and advanced options to consider. It’s a great all-in-one solution for full-scale password management. LastPass is available for use for individuals, families, and businesses.

We want to take a closer look at LastPass Enterprise, one of the highest-tier packages available for large-scale business use. We’ll look at the cost, what you get with it, how it stacks up to the other plans, and whether or not it’s worth the price.

LastPass Enterprise: How Pricing Works

LastPass Enterprise is an excellent solution for businesses that need a password manager with top-of-the-line features and security protocols. In terms of pricing, LastPass Enterprise will cost $6.00 per month, per user. If you have many employees, you will have to do some calculating here.

For example, if you have 75 employees, at $6.00 per month, this would come to a monthly total of $450. Keep in mind that LastPass Enterprise is generally billed on an annual basis, so for 75 employees, the yearly grand total would be $5,400. This is, of course, just an example.

Keep in mind that you can get a 14-day free trial of LastPass Enterprise as well, just to test it out and to see what it can do for you and your business.

What Do You Get?

So, for $6.00 per month, per user, what do you and your business get with LastPass Enterprise?

Admin Controls

LastPass Enterprise allows one or many admins the control they need to keep everything in check.

There is a centralized dashboard that allows either a single or multiple admins to control the account.

Each admin can be provided with a specific access level because not all admins need to have all admin rights.

Using the dashboard, you can monitor and control all of LastPass Enterprise’s necessary security functions and features.

Single Sign-On

Another amazing feature of LastPass Enterprise is the single sign-on catalog that includes well over 1,200 apps. This means that you and your employees can access all of the most essential apps you need to conduct business with a single password.

Some of the most popular integrated apps include 15Five, Amazon Web Services, Asana, Box, Concrete, Confluence, DocuSign, Dropbox, Egnyte, Evernote Business, G Suite, Github Enterprise, and many, many more.

Password Management

One of the best features of LastPass Enterprise is the password management function, which performs multiple tasks.

You get a high-quality password generator that generates long and complex passwords consisting of random number, letter, and symbol sequences. Passwords are generated individually for account members and their individual accounts.

The login and go feature saves and auto-fills passwords. This means that using a single master password, you and your employees can access all necessary accounts without having to remember individual passwords.

All account members can easily share passwords and additional info with each other in a secure location.

Directory Integration

Perhaps one of the most useful features is directory integration. LastPass Enterprise is designed for easy integration with your existing active directory system for a simplified onboarding process.

Various popular directories are supported, including Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Azure AD, and more.

User profiles are easily synced to the LastPass Enterprise account. When new users are added to your directory, LastPass can automatically assign them an account, and if users are deleted from the directory, LastPass can automatically delete their account.

Sharing

Another thing that LastPass Enterprise does very well is to allow employees and members to share their info with others with ease and in a secure way.

Everyone can easily share passwords with others to keep everyone up to date in a convenient way.

LastPass Enterprise makes it easy to share credentials with others no matter how many people or logins are involved.

Admins can also see which accounts are being shared and who has access to those accounts.

You can group passwords by teams or projects, so people have access for a specific job.

When you share a folder, you can customize each person’s permissions.

Removing or adding employees is made fast and easy.

You can even automate all of this with an integrated active directory.

Security

One of the most important things that you probably want to know about LastPass Enterprise is what kind of security protocols it implements to keep you, your employees, and your business safe.

LastPass Enterprise uses several third-party security firms to routinely audit and test LastPass service and infrastructure.

All data is encrypted at the device level via AES-256 encryption before syncing TLS to stop on-path attackers in their tracks.

The zero-knowledge approach ensures nobody but you have access to account info, not even the owners and operators of LastPass.

The master password is never stored on the servers.

PBKDF2-SHA256 is used as an extra layer of protection.

The admin dashboard allows for well over 100 configurable policies so admins can control user access, controls, authentication, and more.

LastPass Enterprise also allows for multifactor authentication, such as phone text authentication, to add another security layer for you, your business, and your employees.

Federated Login

With the LastPass Enterprise federated login feature, you can even go so far as to eliminate the master password, essentially allowing you and employees to log into accounts using their directory credentials.

LastPass Enterprise vs. Other Account Options

LastPass has three other business-related account options available.

These include LastPass MFA for $3.00 per month, per user; LastPass Teams for $4.00 per month, per user; and LastPass Identity for $8.00 per month per user.

Each one of these options includes more account options, security features, and control options than the last.

Before purchasing, we recommend comparing LastPass account options to see which one is best for you.

On a side note, LastPass also has options available for individuals – not for business purposes: LastPass Free, LastPass Premium ($3 monthly), and LastPass Family ($4 monthly).

The Verdict: Is it Worth the Price?

Suppose you have a large business with many employees. In that case, you need great security features, an easy way for employees to share information, quick and easy login features, advanced admin controls, and more.

We would say that LastPass Enterprise is definitely worth the cost. This package may not be cheap, but its numerous features make it worth the price.
